A new GeoPoll survey has revealed that weekly betting is the most common gambling habit among respondents across six African countries.
According to the Betting in Africa 2026 report released on July 16, 27 per cent of respondents said they place bets once a week.
Monthly betting was the second most common pattern at 23 per cent, while 21 per cent said they bet less than once a month.
Daily bettors accounted for 14 per cent of respondents, with another 14 per cent saying they bet more than once a day.
The survey was conducted in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda, offering a snapshot of gambling behaviour across the region.
The findings suggest that betting has become a regular activity for a significant share of participants, with nearly one in three engaging at least weekly.
Analysts say the growth of mobile betting platforms, easier access to digital payments and aggressive marketing by betting firms continue to shape gambling habits across African markets.
