Several high-profile corruption and asset recovery cases are scheduled for hearing and ruling in Kenyan courts this week.

This underscores the ongoing anti-corruption drive by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Among the matters awaiting rulings are the Sh615 million unexplained wealth recovery suit involving Joseph Chege Gikonyo and others, the Sh13 million public funds recovery case against Mary Ngechi Ng'ethe, and the Sh355 million public land recovery suit involving Dayan Construction Company Ltd and other respondents.

The courts will also hear the alleged Sh351.1 million corruption case against former Murang'a Governor Francis Mwangi Wa Iria and eight others.

Another major matter is the Sh450 million Correctional Services recovery suit involving Steven Kisonzo Mulwa and other parties.

In addition, Bomet Governor Hillary Kipng'eno Barchok and two others are scheduled to appear in an alleged conflict of interest case.
