Kidney stones, which form when minerals build up in the kidneys, can cause severe discomfort if not managed early.

Common symptoms include pain in the groin or side of the abdomen, blood in urine, nausea, vomiting, and a frequent urge to urinate. In some cases, infections may lead to fever and chills.

Health experts say prevention is possible through simple lifestyle changes.

Staying well hydrated, reducing salt intake, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding sugary drinks can lower the risk. Increasing citric intake and limiting caffeine also help, while proper diet and care remain key to keeping kidneys healthy
