The analysis of mobile application attacks detected 76,891 threats in Kenya between July and September 2025. This figure reflects a notable increase of 59.32% compared to the previous three-month period (April-June), indicating a rapidly growing area of concern for cybersecurity professionals.

The attacks were primarily directed at specific systems, with the Top Targeted Systems including Mobile Devices (Android), Android TVs, Set-Top Boxes, and the Google TV App. This focus suggests that attackers are increasingly targeting the extended Android ecosystem, highlighting the need for vigilance across all smart devices.

The most common methods used by attackers, classified as Top Targeted Exploits, included improper credential usage, inadequate supply chain security, and insecure authentication.

Additionally, insufficient input/output validation was a key vulnerability exploited by malicious actors. Strengthening authentication protocols and securing the software supply chain are paramount to mitigating these focused threats.
