In the first half of 2025,
Kenya’s imports from the US dropped 9.8
percent to Sh70.39
billion, from Sh78.11 billion in the first half of 2024.
This is from a report done by the Kenya National Bureau of Standards (KNBS).
The drop is attributed mainly to lower
imports of aircraft and other large‐capital goods from the US.
While the US remains one of Kenya’s major sources of imports, it is not Kenya’s largest — other countries
(notably China, UAE, India) had rising import values in the same period.
