The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall advisory covering October 23 to 30, 2025.
Affected areas include the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Highlands, both east and west of the Rift (including Nairobi), South-Eastern Lowlands, and parts of North-Eastern Kenya from October 30.
The rains are expected to intensify and spread, marking the onset of the October-November-December short rains season.
Residents are advised to watch out for floods and landslides, avoid walking or driving through moving water, and stay away from open fields and trees during storms.
