    Over the past decade, the Nobel Peace Prize has recognised remarkable individuals and organizations advancing peace and human rights globally.

    In 2025, María Corina Machado of Venezuela was honored, following Japan’s Nihon Hidankyo in 2024 and Iran’s Narges Mohammadi in 2023. .

    The 2022 laureates were Ales Bialiatski, Memorial, and the Centre for Civil Liberties. Journalists Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov won in 2021, while the World Food Programme was recognized in 2020.

    Previous recipients include Ethiopia’s Abiy Ahmed, Congo’s Denis Mukwege, Iraq’s Nadia Murad, ICAN of Switzerland, and Colombia’s Juan Manuel Santos.

    Notably, Kenya’s Professor Wangari Maathai won in 2004.
