Kenya has experienced a remarkable rise in cryptocurrency adoption over the past eight years.
According to Statista, the number of crypto users in the country has grown from just 10,400 in 2017 to an estimated 733,300 in 2025.
This steady increase reflects Kenya’s growing interest in digital assets and blockchain technology.
In 2020, users reached 86,690, climbing sharply to 364,800 by 2022 and nearly doubling to 729,200 by 2024.
The upward trend highlights Kenya’s position as one of Africa’s leading markets for digital currency innovation, driven by financial inclusion, tech-savvy youth, and decentralised financial solutions.
