Cabinet Secretaries across the political divide mourned the death of Raila Odinga, who passed away on October 15, 2025, offering moving tributes that emphasised his impact on the nation.

Kipchumba Murkomen (Interior) hailed Raila as a "national treasure," an exemplary statesman, unifier, and patriot who consistently prioritised Kenya.

Murkomen's message stressed that Raila's legacy would forever stand tall among the figures who devoted themselves entirely to building a prosperous Kenya, recognising him as a truly unifying force in the nation’s history.

Hassan Joho (Mining) spoke with deep personal grief, stating his heart was heavy and a void was left that was "hard to express."

For Joho, the deceased was far more than a party leader; he was a mentor, guide, and father figure. Joho concluded with a heartfelt, "Rest well, Baba," reflecting a personal bond and immense respect for his elder.

John Mbadi (Treasury) honoured Raila as a man who died peacefully, having consistently put the interest of the country above everything else. Mbadi emphasised that when the complete history of the former Prime Minister is chronicled, his ultimate act of patriotism—always prioritising the nation—will be an indelible chapter.

Aden Duale (Health) praised Raila's defining qualities: courage, conviction, and compassion. Duale noted that through countless trials and triumphs, Odinga had tirelessly carried the hopes of a people and championed the vision of a better, unified nation for generations of Kenyans.
