As Kenya gears up for the 2027 general elections, Raila Odinga’s political future appears to be at a critical juncture.
According to a Tifa poll released on September 24, 2025, Kenyans remain divided on what role the ODM Party leader should play.
The survey reveals that 32% of respondents would prefer Raila to support President William Ruto’s re-election, indicating a significant portion of the electorate is open to alliances rather than direct competition.
Meanwhile, 23% of Kenyans want him to rejoin the opposition and contest the presidency himself, signalling continued faith in his leadership potential.
Another 17% think he should join the opposition but back another candidate, reflecting a growing desire for fresh leadership alternatives.
Interestingly, 14% believe Raila will retire and stay out of the 2027 elections altogether.
