Kenya has been re-elected for a four-year term to the Postal Operations Council (POC) of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the UN agency overseeing global postal services.

The election was held at the 28th UPU Congress in Dubai, where Kenya secured 127 votes, enough to claim one of the 11 seats allotted to Africa in the 48-member body.

Kenya joins Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Tanzania, Seychelles, Guinea, Cape Verde and Botswana among the continent’s POC representatives.

Through this re-election, Kenya will continue contributing to technical and operational decision-making in areas such as postal standards, digital transformation, and e-commerce within the international postal system.
