A new analysis reveals that the world’s two most populous nations—India and Nigeria—are among the countries with the largest numbers of people exposed to severe water stress.
An estimated 134 million in India and 64 million in Nigeria live with severe water scarcity.
Other countries with significant populations experiencing water shortages include Uganda, Yemen, Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi, Haiti, and Togo, each with millions affected.
These figures highlight the urgent need for scalable water management strategies to secure access to this essential resource.
