Katiba Day will be observed annually beginning August 27, 2025, to commemorate the promulgation of Kenya’s 2010 Constitution.
The first event coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Constitution, recognised as a transformative milestone and the sovereign will of the Kenyan people.
Celebrations will take place across Kenya and in diplomatic missions abroad, with government institutions and schools directed to organise civic activities.
The day is meant to promote constitutional awareness, civic engagement, and reflection on governance.
