Nutrition remains a pressing concern for children under five in Kenya, with girls facing higher risks of malnutrition compared to boys.
Data shows that 19.6% of girls are stunted compared to 15.6% of boys, while 11% of girls are underweight against 9.2% of boys.
Similarly, 5.4% of girls are wasted, slightly higher than 4.3% of boys.
Interestingly, more boys (3.6%) than girls (2.9%) are overweight.
However, when it comes to children receiving a minimally acceptable diet, there is no significant difference between the sexes, with both standing at about 30%.
