Mpox cases in Kenya are highest in Mombasa County, with a total of 146 infections as of August 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Health.
The coastal county leads the national tally, followed by Busia (63), Nakuru (21), and Kilifi (19).
Nairobi, the capital, ranks fifth with 17 reported cases.
Other counties affected include Makueni (13), Taita Taveta (5), Uasin Gishu (5), Bungoma (4), and Kajiado (3).
The data points to a spread concentrated around coastal and urban areas, which could be due to higher population density and cross-border movement.
Health authorities are urging enhanced awareness, hygiene practices, and vaccination efforts in hotspot regions.
The Ministry of Health continues to monitor the situation and coordinate response measures in collaboration with county governments.
