A total of 314 confirmed cases have been recorded across 22 counties, with four new cases reported in the past 24 hours—three in Mombasa and one in Nairobi.

The Ministry also revealed that 33 patients are currently admitted to health facilities across the country, while 54 others are under home-based isolation and care. So far, 222 patients have recovered fully from the virus.

Since the onset of the outbreak, five deaths have been recorded, bringing the case fatality rate to 1.6%.

Additionally, 422 close contacts of confirmed cases have been identified. Of these, 392 have completed the recommended 21-day monitoring period, while others remain under observation. Fifteen of these contacts have since tested positive for Mpox.

The public is being urged to adhere to preventive health measures, including avoiding close contact with suspected or confirmed cases, refraining from sharing personal items, and using protective gear such as gloves and masks when caring for the sick.

Kenyans are also advised not to share bedding or clothing with infected individuals, to maintain personal hygiene through regular handwashing or use of alcohol-based sanitizers, and to practice safe sex.

The ministry is calling on the public to report symptoms early and seek medical attention promptly. Anyone with suspected or confirmed Mpox is advised to self-isolate and get evaluated by a trained healthcare provider.
