Kenya's 2024 birth registration data reveals significant disparities across counties, with ten regions showing the lowest numbers.
Lamu recorded the fewest registrations at 3,919, closely followed by Samburu with 4,823 and Tana River at 5,076.
Isiolo, Taita Taveta, and Mandera also featured in the bottom ten, indicating potential challenges in birth registration processes or lower birth rates in these areas.
Wajir, Tharaka-Nithi, and Nyandarua had slightly higher figures but still remained among the lowest, with Marsabit rounding out the list at 11,374 registered births.
These figures, sourced from the Kenya Vital Statistics Report 2024 by KNBS, highlight areas where efforts to improve birth registration outreach and accessibility might be most needed.
