
The June 25 Gen Z protests spread across 25 counties, leaving a trail of casualties and concern.
According to the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, 8 people were killed by gunshots in 6 counties: Machakos (2), Makueni (2), Nakuru (1), Kiambu (1), Uasin Gishu (1), and Nyandarua (1).
Over 400 casualties were recorded, including demonstrators, police officers, and journalists. Of these, 83 were referred for specialised treatment, 8 with gunshot wounds.
Police detained 61 people countrywide, though some arrests were unrecorded. Numerous injuries were linked to rubber bullets, live ammunition, and water cannons.
