Following the death of blogger Albert Ojwang in police custody on June 8, 2025, ICJ Kenya has issued eight key demands.
They insist that the National Police Service explain any resurgence of arrests on weekends or Fridays.
ICJ Kenya calls for impartial probes into Ojwang's arrest, transfer, detention, and death by IPOA and KNHCR.
"Investigations must meet international accountability standards".
They also demand public access to post-mortem, hospital records, and detention logs.
ICJ Kenya urges the implementation of laws for independent death investigations.
Parliament must fast-track solutions for grieving families.
