
The surge in prime-time viewership is attributed to popular local programming and news bulletins, which attract large audiences during these hours.
An additional 9 per cent of viewers tune in between 4:01 PM and 6:59 PM. This time slot accounts for 75 per cent of TV viewership, marking a significant increase from 46 per cent in 2022.
According to the Media Council of Kenya's State of the Media Report 2023/2024, the majority of Kenyans prefer watching television during prime time hours, specifically between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
