The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday declared Mpox a public health emergency.
The first case of the virus was reported in Kenya on July 31.
As of August 9, at least 12 Kenyans have been tested for Mpox since the outbreak was declared.
The World Health Organisation has maintained that the risk of Mpox in Kenya remains high.
The strain detected in Kenya is linked to the highly infectious strain called Clade 1b, which is mostly spread sexually.
