Persons committing violence against women

In Kenya, about 34 per cent of women have experienced physical violence since age 15.

Data by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics 2022 says 13 per cent of women have experienced sexual violence at some point in their lives.

According to the UN, Violence against women and girls (VAWG) persists as a pervasive violation of human rights.

KNBS indicates 45 per cent of women aged 15–49 have experienced physical violence.

The main perpetrators of physical violence against women are their husbands or intimate partners.
