Kenya Power has announced that it will shut down token prepaid vending systems for maintenance.

In a notice released on Saturday, the company noted that the scheduled maintenance will hinder customers from purchasing tokens via prepaid Paybill number or Airtel Money.

The maintenance will take place from September 9 at 11:50pm to September 10 at 5:00am.

"Our prepaid vending system will be temporarily unavailable due to essential maintenance from Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at 11:50 PM to Sunday, September 10th, 2023, at 5:00 AM," reads the notice.

"During this time, customers will not be able to purchase electricity tokens via prepaid Paybill number 888880 or Airtel Money.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers."
