A top government official is reportedly
considering stepping down from his critical docket from what sources he citing
personal reasons. The laid-back top official has, in recent weeks, supposedly
minimised his engagements, with talk that he may be unwell. While this comes at
a time when there is talk of a possible reshuffle, the exit of the official is
likely to impact the government, as the man is among the trusted allies of a
high-ranking politico.

The conduct of officers manning a
roundabout in Nairobi is becoming a concern. Motorists are complaining that the
officers are allegedly extorting in broad daylight, using flimsy reasons. In
one instance, two officers could agree that tyres of a car they impound are in
good shape or worn out, but still go ahead to take the vehicle to the police
station. This is while they allow PSV drivers to do as they wish, as they look
the other way. Affected motorists were overheard wondering why the Traffic
Commandant is yet to check on his boys!

One of the candidates shortlisted for the
top job at a commission is said to be allegedly doing all he can to secure the
slot. The candidate is said to be moving from one office to the other,
particularly in popular addresses, seeking support from certain influential
state functionaries. The problem is, however, that the candidate doesn’t
allegedly seem to trust those he has reached out to and is again speaking to
the “friends” of the senior members, just to check if everything is fine. Woe
unto him if he fails to secure the slot!

A story is told of a man who was walking
down a path, swinging his hands rhythmically. From his hiding spot in the
bushes, a greedy hyena watched and formed a foolish plan. "Those hands
look like they're about to fall off," the hyena thought to himself.
"I'll follow him and eat them when they drop". And so it seems a
vocal politician from one of the big political parties is doing the same. He is
seemingly said to be positioning himself to take over a top position in the
outfit as the jostling in the outfit intensifies. The politico, who has
purportedly for months been salivating for the post, is possibly aligning with
a faction that is perceived to be more influential, especially the chairman, so
that he becomes the beneficiary of “the swinging hand”.
