A SENIOR GOVERNMENT official is reportedly having sleepless nights after being
discreetly chosen to spearhead campaign
efforts for a parliamentary by-election in
his home constituency.
The official, whose
position legally bars him from engaging in
active politics, is expected to operate behind
the scenes to avoid public scrutiny.
Despite
his lack of political experience, he has been
allegedly tasked with delivering a win in
what is shaping up to be a highly competitive race.
Sources say the technocrat is
grappling with the demands of navigating
the rough terrain of local politics while
maintaining the nonpartisan posture required by
his office.
FEAR HAS ENGULFED a subcounty
following reports that a criminal gang with
alleged ties to a local politician is regrouping
and threatening resurgence of violence.
The
gang, which had previously been dismantled under the leadership of a former police
boss, is said to be planning a comeback
following the officer’s recent transfer.
According to concerned residents, some
of the gang leaders have posted coordinated threats on social media, promising
retaliation against political opponents and
declaring their intent to reclaim control of
the region ahead of the general election in
2027.
CONFUSION HAS GRIPPED a government office following the posting of two
individuals to the same leadership position.
The standoff stems from the alleged refusal
of the outgoing official to hand over office to
his successor.
Reports indicate that the former boss fell ill on the scheduled handover
day and was untraceable for most of the recent weeks.
Sources suggest that the local MP,
who has openly opposed the appointment
of the new official, has worsened the situation.
TENSIONS ARE RISING after a parliamentary aspirant was allegedly assaulted
by the sitting MP over his growing popularity among voters ahead of the 2027 general
election.
According to the aspirant, the incident occurred shortly after both politicians
attended a funeral in the area.
He claims the
MP confronted him, accusing him of plotting
to unseat him and warning that he would
“teach him a lesson” for his ambitions.
