A CLEVER POLITICAL deal is being hammered regarding
the leadership of an important county. The scheming is in top gear following a
meeting of some political bigwigs recently. Youthful politicos who could be
casualties of the new political rearrangment are reportedly banding together to
run on one coalition. Most of their advisers are however split, with some
saying the new political direction could be suicidal. There are concerns that
if they don’t act fast, their political adversaries could spring up with a
stronger narrative that will be difficult to counter.

A FIRST-TERM GOVERNOR has become so unpopular in his
county that a political novice could beat him with a landslide in 2027. The
governor’s party leader, who has been listening to the ‘ground’, has cut down
his interactions with the beleaguered county boss, at least publicly, because
he does not want to be seen as condoning lacklustre leadership. The county
boss, in readiness for any eventuality, is now rekindling his relationship with
the leaders of a rival party.

AN MP WHO stepped aside for a current governor after
intense horse trading is causing jitters in his county. In the deal, the MP was
promised that the county boss would run for one term and then step down for him
in 2027. But the lawmaker has smelt a rat and has been telling all and sundry
that he is no longer sure the party will honour its word. The man has been
playing to the public an audio clip in which the party leader made the promise.
He is no doubt burning the midnight oil to chart a new course for himself.

AN OUTSPOKEN GOVERNOR is secretly shopping for a new
party in case he does not bag the nomination of his current outfit for the next
election. What is worrying the county chief more is the entry of the area woman
representative in the race. The woman MP is said to be the party leader’s
favourite, owing to her unflinching loyalty. But it is also believed that the
female politician is a project of the party boss in the county and that she
might even be rigged in at the primaries.
