President Ruto’s warning salvo against academic cheats in the civil service has scared some top dogs. It is alleged that an individual heading a critical government agency appears to be among the likely victims. Ironically, the man is involved in the promotion of good governance. So scared is he that immediately the President issued his edict he purportedly started frantically sharing his academic documents all over to show that he had the qualifications and therefore above reproach. Among the documents he shared include those that indicate he enrolled for a degree course even before his alleged alma mater was accredited to offer the programme. The man, who is being touted for an even bigger state job, has of late been sponsoring anything positive about him, including infomercials.

The woman, who was one of the strong voices in the case, was even forced to leave her phones in her office just to avoid giving any clues about her whereabouts.
