A newly refurbished chopper for a security agency is lying idle and unattended for lack of fuel. Things are so thick that the managers at the agency have no guts to seek for finances to help them operationalise the chopper, which had been out of the country for repairs. This has exposed personnel who had hoped the chopper would help them in meeting some of the needs, especially movement of troops and food and other logistics. Senior managers say their hands are tied and do not know what to do given their bosses are mum.

There is a silent war and murmurs within a security agency over supply of food to the personnel. This stems from the scrapping of the allocation meant for food. What has upset the personnel in the field is the fact that the food never reaches them and the supplier choses what to deliver. Further, the new supplier who is a senior government official, is using the existing systemic channels to apparently supply the food at an exorbitant fee. The new supplier has allegedly also locked out others using his powers. The suppliers are appealing to the powers that be to intervene and stop the milking at the agency by reportedly almost Sh720 million a month.
