President Uhuru Kenyatta waves to the crowds as he entered the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu.

A legislator from one of the  Nyanza counties is said to have dished out over Sh3 million to mobilise residents to cheer her during the commissioning of national projects by President Uhuru Kenyatta. The legislator took the better part of last Wednesday meeting, various groups, urging them to turn out in large numbers to cheer her and jeer her competitors who are eying the same political position in the 2022 General Election. The ambitious politician who has ruffled feathers among her seniors who accuse her of always going overboard now feels disappointed. The President Kenyatta abruptly postponed launching some of the projects in Nyanza in what was referred to as "time constraints" while in other quarters NIS had taken note of the politician's behaviour.

Are senior officers in one of the ministries misusing the name of State House and senior individuals in the Office of the President to outdo each other in their ongoing supremacy wars? Well, our mole in the crucial ministry has told Corridors that some middle-level managers were overheard bragging that even the Cabinet Secretary has no control over them since their godfathers are well placed at the house on the hill. So vicious is the war at the ministry that it has seen some officers leak vital information that might discredit the ministry that controls the country's very important portfolio.

A political stalwart in the country is reported to be pulling all strings to have a relative shortlisted for interviews for one of the several crucial positions in the public service. A source in the know has whispered to Corridors that the politician has been lobbying the powers that be to influence the interview process. The man thinks that with the relative occupying one of the positions in the public institution, he would have an advantage over the rest during some of the upcoming political activities. Only time will tell if, indeed, he will carry the day.

A senior government official is under fire for fighting tooth and nail to frustrate the hosting of Madaraka Day celebrations in Kisumu county on Tuesday. Reports have it that the man  sponsored a smeared campaign through media articles to depict Kisumu as a Covid ravaged place that should be avoided. He was, however, shocked  when top security officials and State House officials reaffirmed that the  national self-rule celebrations would proceed  as scheduled. The official  is said to have pocketed a number of vocal legislators from the region and has a way of lording it over everyone without being questioned.
