National Cereals and Produce Board inched closer to retaining their Kenya Handball Federation title with an easy 41-26 victory over Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.
The millers are yet to taste defeat and their main hurdle comes in the form of another unbeaten side, Ulinzi, whom they confront this weekend.
A happy NCPB coach Bryan Mathews hailed his charges for their efforts, saying they showed a good game.
“Our goal was to bag maximum points this weekend and we got that. Our focus shifts to our last match against Ulinzi.”
NCPB were lifted by Morgan Simiyu’s 11 goals and Robert Maraga’s seven. The Juja-based students, who trailed 19-12 at the break, had 11 from Dollan Bwibo.
NCPB also blanked General Service Unit (GSU) 32-28 as William Malui made nine goals and Winston Chekai had six.
NCPB women were on top of things as they drubbed Daystar 36-22. Joan Akinyi hit nine goals as Lenah Neri and Annette Baraza added five each.
Daystar University beat Buccaneers 37-26. Andrew Oruko had nine and Amos Okwako eight for the students.
Daystar University hit Nanyuki 32-28 as Amos Owako buried 10 goals.
Julius Ng’ang’a and Michema Jackson each shot eight goal as Technical University of Kenya beat Hunters 31-30.
Strathmore University scorched Desert Scorpions 36-29.
Amazon dismissed Mountain Queens 34-26 as Catherine Wanjiju and Zipporah Wairimu bagged seven goals each for the winners.
Ulinzi Sharks complicated their charge for the crown with a 28-28 draw with NCPB.
