Ulinzi Warriors will remain on top of the Kenya Handball Federation league standings with a win over Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology on Saturday at Nyayo Stadium.

Coach Nickson Oyaro said the soldiers, who are top with 37 points from 19 matches, will go all out for goals.

“(Jkuat) is a good team and we are ready for the game. We will play each game as it comes without underrating anyone,” said Oyaro.

Equity Bank, who are third with 36 points, continue their surge for the title on debut. They play fourth-placed General Service Unit (GSU), second with 36 points.

“It’s a tough match which is a must-win. GSU has nothing to lose in this match. I think they are targeting to finish in the top six in order to play Super Cup,” noted the Bankers’ coach Peter Mwathi.

“For Equity, it’s all about pushing for the league title and that’s why we are approaching this match with a clear mind — nothing short of a win.”

Buccaneers top scorer Randy Ochieng hopes to annihilate Jkuat.

“I think they are a good team but we hope to bounce back after a series of defeats,” he said.

National Youth Service (NYS) tackle Jkuat in the men’s and women’s categories.

“We are well prepared for the games as we target a strong finish,” said NYS coach Anthony Naburuck.

He is still assessing the fitness of key players — Lawi Kimutai, Gideon Kimtai and Collins Oduor, who suffered injuries on Saturday.

In the women’s fixtures, Ulinzi Sharks, second behind Nairobi Water Queens on 30 points, have a date with Jkuat.
