Reverend Philip Anyolo has arrived in Nairobi ahead of his instalation as the new Archbishop of the Nairobi Diocese on Saturday.
The event will take place at St Mary's Msongari grounds at 10am.
Anyolo becomes the fifth Archbishop of Nairobi after replacing Cardinal John Njue who retired in January after attaining the age of 75.
Anyolo arrived at St Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Friday and is expected to address the Catholic faithful.
Njue served for 13 years.
Upon arrival at the altar, the priest will make a reverential bow and proceed to their seats.
The Archbishop elect heads to his designated seat at the side of the sanctuary accompanied by two priests.
The Apostolic Nuncio and Deacon on duty kisses the Altar, he incenses it and proceeds to his seat for welcoming speech.
The commentator asks the congregants to take their seats and invites Fr. Peter Kaigua to welcome all present and the Apostolic Nuncio to lead the celebration.

The Apostolic Nuncio makes a few introductory remarks on the significance of the celebration .
Fr. Calisto Nyagilo, the Judicial Vicar, requests the Apostolic Nuncio to install Archbishop Philip Anyolo, as the Archbishop of Nairobi.
The new Archbishop will stand and be congratulated by different representatives before taking his seat. He then pledges his loyalty from various groups.
The archbishop will then receive greetings from the entire congregation and wave at them.
He will then proceed to his seat. The commentator will then invite the choir to lead in singing the Gloria.
The new Archbishop leads in the remaining part of the mass.
After Cardinal Njue’s retirement, the Archdiocese of Nairobi has been under the guidance of the Auxiliary Bishop David Kamau, serving as the Apostolic Administrator since January 4, 2021.
Prior to his appointment, Bishop Anyolo has been the Archbishop of Kisumu since November 15, 2018.
Bishop Anyolo hails from Tongaren, Bungoma and was ordained a priest on October 15, 1983.
He was installed the bishop of Kericho diocese on December 6, 1995, and was later transferred to the Homa Bay Diocese on May 23, 2003.
