The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has resumed its online services after completing a three-day scheduled system maintenance that temporarily interrupted access to its digital platforms.

"Normal operations have fully resumed. Thank you for your patience!" NTSA said.

The authority had earlier announced that its systems would be unavailable from 8pm on Friday, July 17, until 8am on Monday, July 20, to allow for preventive maintenance aimed at improving service delivery.

The maintenance affected NTSA's online services, with the authority advising motorists, vehicle owners, driving schools, dealers and other stakeholders to plan their transactions around the scheduled downtime.

In a notice issued before the maintenance exercise, NTSA said the temporary suspension was necessary to facilitate preventive maintenance on its systems.

The authority apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked users for their patience and understanding as it worked to enhance the quality and reliability of its digital services.

"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to offer quality services to you," NTSA stated.

With the maintenance period now concluded, motorists and other users can once again access NTSA's online platform to apply for and renew driving licences, conduct motor vehicle ownership searches, transfer vehicle ownership, book driving tests and access other transport-related services.

NTSA has increasingly shifted many of its services to online platforms as part of the government's digital transformation agenda, enabling Kenyans to access transport services without visiting its offices.

The authority relies on its digital platform to process thousands of transactions daily, including vehicle registration, inspection bookings, public service vehicle licensing and driving school services.

Scheduled maintenance exercises are carried out periodically to improve system performance, strengthen security and minimise the risk of unexpected service interruptions.

Before the maintenance began, NTSA advised customers requiring assistance to contact the authority through its official communication channels or visit the nearest NTSA office where applicable.

The restoration of the platform means normal online operations have resumed, allowing users to continue accessing services through the authority's digital systems.
