

National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi made the final preparations to present the 2026/27 national budget, unveiling a record Sh4.84 trillion spending plan aimed at accelerating economic growth, creating jobs and strengthening key sectors of the economy.
The CS posed for photographs at the National Treasury headquarters ahead of the official budget presentation to Parliament, holding the traditional budget briefcase containing the fiscal proposals for the upcoming financial year.

At the Treasury grounds, Mbadi interacted briefly with officials and posed for photos displaying the budget documents before proceeding to Parliament for the formal reading of the spending plan.
The Sh4.84 trillion budget is expected to outline government priorities for the 2026/27 financial year, with emphasis on economic recovery measures, employment creation, infrastructure development and support for critical public services.
