Savula, who serves as the Western region deputy co-ordinator of the ‘Ruto two-term’ campaign, said Oparanya should not panic over efforts to push out ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna, noting that party disputes should not derail the ruling coalition’s mobilisation agenda.
He was speaking on Saturday while engaging UDA supporters in Khwisero.
His remarks come amid growing political tension within the Orange party, where leadership disputes have sparked internal divisions.
The situation has also triggered reactions from Western leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza administration, who are keen on consolidating support ahead of the 2027 general election.
Oparanya, a former ODM deputy leader, had earlier expressed concern that the party wrangles were complicating efforts to popularise President Ruto in the Western region.
He has since convened meetings between ODM elected leaders from Kakamega and party leader Oburu Oginga to bring stability.
Savula, however, maintained that ODM must resolve its internal disputes independently, saying the Kenya Kwanza’s Western team remains focused on delivering votes for the President.
He said the region was increasingly aligning with Ruto’s administration due to ongoing development projects, adding that campaigns for a second term would intensify in the coming weeks.
The Western coordination team includes MPs Fred Ikana (Kakamega), Beatrice Adagala (Vihiga), Mary Emase (Busia), Dan Wanyama (Bungoma), and Bisau Kakai (Trans Nzoia).
