Business has come to a standstill in Kitengela, Kajiado county.

This is after anti-fuel hike protestors took to the streets on Monday morning.

Police sources said that the demonstrations started at around 6.00 am.

Not a single shop, office, or business has been opened within Kitengela Township.

Several billboards and guardrails have been pulled down along the Namanga Road.

Hundreds of the youth are sitting on the road, while others have camped in front of shops and supermarkets.

Police officers have kept their cool even as the youth hurl insults at some of them.

No running battles between police and protestors so far.
