A night of heavy rains left a trail of disruption and anxiety in the Katani area, as floodwaters swallowed roads, stranded vehicles, and brought daily life to a near standstill.
By Tuesday morning, a school van sat helplessly in rising water along Syokimau–Katani Road, its wheels partially submerged as concerned onlookers gathered nearby. Feeder roads leading out of residential estates were impassable, with murky brown water stretching from one end to the other.
