NCI and NDMA invites applications for 23 job vacancies

In a public notice, NCI said it is seeking to recruit professionals to strengthen cancer prevention and control operations across the country.

The institute, established under the Cancer Prevention and Control Act of 2012, is mandated to coordinate national efforts in managing the growing cancer burden.

Among the advertised positions at the institute are Director of cancer prevention and Control, Deputy Directors in Internal Audit, Finance and Accounts, and Legal Services, as well as officers in ICT, records management, administration and cancer prevention coordination.

All positions carry either contract terms or permanent and pensionable employment. Applicants interested in the NCI positions are required to submit applications online through the institute’s recruitment email and indicate the vacancy number before the deadline.

The institute emphasised that it is an equal opportunity employer and encouraged persons with disabilities, marginalised groups and minorities to apply.

Similarly, NDMA announced 13 positions, including Director of Research and Data Informatics; Deputy Directors in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Legal Services; as well as officers in administration, finance, human resource management, drivers and drought management coordination.

The authority is responsible for coordinating drought risk management interventions in the country.

"Interested qualified applicants are requested to submit a filled bio-data form, a cover letter, a detailed CV, copies of certificates and testimonials with the title of the position and reference number clearly indicated in the email subject line," NDMA said.

It warned that canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification and clarified that no application fees are required.

Successful candidates in both institutions will be expected to meet Chapter Six requirements of the Constitution, including clearance from agencies such as the Kenya Revenue Authority, Higher Education Loans Board, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Directorate of Criminal Investigations and a registered credit reference bureau.
