
Police arrested a woman after the
bodies of her two minors were found wrapped in a piece of cloth in Bomocharu
village, Tabaka, Kisii County.
The minors, who were both boys, were aged five and seven, police said.
Their bodies were found wrapped in
a piece of cloth and placed outside their house long after they had died.
They are believed to
have been fed with poison, villagers said of the January 10 incident.
The motive of the
incident was not known, police said as they moved the bodies to the mortuary
pending an autopsy.
Their mother was
detained pending interrogation, police said.
Elsewhere, police are
investigating an incident where a human skull was found dumped near a school in
Ruai’s Kamulu area, Nairobi.
The skull seemed to have
been delivered to the scene, police said, adding it was moved to the mortuary
pending an autopsy and investigations.
In Tinganga area, Kiambu county, a suspect was stoned to death after he was allegedly found stealing arrow roots from a piece of land.
The suspect was stoned to death and his body set on fire, police said, adding they were investigating murder in the incident.
The body of Phineas Kubai, 39, was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and
investigations.
Police said mob lynching
is criminal and want suspects to be surrendered for processing and possible
prosecution.
Another mob lynching
incident was reported in Tala, Machakos County, police said, adding the victim
was accused of being a cattle thief.
Meanwhile, a miner was
killed at a gold mine site in Oyugis, Homa Bay County.
The victim was
identified as Victor Okoth, 26. He had ventured into a gold mining site when
the walls collapsed and trapped him.
The body was later
retrieved and moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
This is the latest such
incident to happen in the gold mining quarries amid efforts to address the
menace. Dozens of miners were killed in similar incidents last year alone,
officials say.
In Nyando, Kisumu County, a man died after being assaulted on the roadside.
Police said Zacharia
Orera, 51, succumbed to the injuries in his house and the body was moved to the
mortuary pending autopsy and hunting for the suspects in the incident.
In Mandera Town, one Zakaria Muktar Hassan, 30, died after being assaulted at a joint.
Police said
the body had injuries in the neck, thorax, and hands. The body was moved to the
mortuary pending an autopsy and hunt for the assailants.
