President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Sunday attended a church service at AIC Milimani, Nairobi county.

Addressing the faithful, Ruto congratulated the church for having its first bishop, Reverend Dr Stephen Mairori.

Ruto recalled that the church started in a tent but has now has a beautiful building.

 “We used to have an acting pastor, now we have a bishop,” he said.

“As we move on, I am reminded about where we came from.”

Ruto urged the faithful to pray for leaders whop were elected in the by-elections held last Thursday.

AIC Milimani Church, located in the heart of Nairobi County, is one of the city’s most prominent and longstanding congregations within the Africa Inland Church (AIC) denomination.

Situated near the bustling Upper Hill area, the church has grown into a spiritual and community hub that draws worshippers from across the capital.

Over the years, it has distinguished itself through vibrant worship services, strong youth and family ministries, and an active role in social outreach, making it a focal point of faith for many Nairobi residents.

The church is known for its orderly, structured services and its emphasis on biblical teaching, discipleship, and community values.

Its sanctuary regularly hosts large congregations, particularly during Sunday services and national prayer events.

AIC Milimani has also become a preferred venue for high-profile memorial services and thanksgiving ceremonies, often attended by national leaders, diplomats, and public figures—reflecting its longstanding association with the country’s political and civic landscape.
