The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will deliver a ruling on hearings for Kasipul Constituency by-election by the commission’s Electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee.

The press briefing will he held at IEBC offices at Anniversary Towers at 9 am.

Electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee had issued directives to candidates in the Kasipul amid rising concerns over political tensions and campaign-related violence.

The committee had ordered candidates to strictly follow the harmonised campaign schedule, which was mutually agreed upon in the presence of all contestants.

It warned that any breach of the schedule leading to clashes would compel it to act under paragraph 7 of the Second Schedule of the Elections Act, Cap 7.

Kasipul, in Homa Bay County, has recently been in the spotlight for repeated political disturbances.

Mbadi to launch public hearings on FY 2026/27 Budget at KICC

National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi will launch public hearings on the proposed Financial Year 2026/27 and Medium-Term Budget.

The launch will be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) from 8.30 am.

The three-day exercise is being undertaken in accordance with Article 201(a) of the Constitution and Section 36 of the Public Finance Management Act [Cap. 4124), which require public participation in the budget-making process.

The public may also follow the proceedings through a link posted on the National Treasury's official website and social media platforms.

The government has encouraged Kenyans to actively participate in the budget making process.

Governors meet in Naivasha for full council session

The Council of Governors will hold a full council meeting and start a two-day symposium with the ministries of Health and Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development.

The meeting will be held at Lake Naivasha Sawela Lodge Nakuru County.

During the full council meeting governors will elect the new vice chairperson.

The chairperson, Ahmed Abdullahi and the respective Cabinet Secretaries will address the Media on the resolutions made tomorrow from 1 pm.

3rd Annual Media–CSO Conference opens in Nairobi

The 3rd Annual Media-CSO Conference 2025 kicks off at Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi.

Civic Freedoms Forum (CCF) and Kenya Correspondents Association (KCA) will make an address during the opening ceremony.

The theme of this year’s event is “Media and Civil Society as Guardians of Kenya's Democratic Space.”

The forum that brings together media professionals (journalists, editors, broadcasters) and civil society actors (CSOs, human-rights defenders, advocacy groups) to discuss, strategise, and strengthen collaboration around issues of media freedom, civic space, and public accountability.

RBA holds second National Retirement Benefits Convention as it marks 25 years

Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) hosts the second National Retirement Benefits Sector Convention at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

The meeting, which starts at 8 am, will also celebrate RBA’s 25th anniversary, marking two and a half decades of protecting, promoting, and regulating the retirement sector.

The event brings together key stakeholders, industry leaders, policymakers, and regulators to discuss the future of the retirement benefits sector, enhance financial security for Kenyans, and celebrate a quarter-century of regulatory excellence.

National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi will officially open the meeting.
