Bayo passed away on Monday, November 10, while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
She had been battling blood cancer (leukaemia).
Kanze Dena visited the family on Saturday, where she comforted Betty’s children, Sky and Danny, her husband, Hiram Gitau, and their extended relatives.
She conveyed the former President’s assurance of his prayers and solidarity with the family during what he described as a deeply painful moment for the gospel and creative community.

The former head of state said the gesture was made in recognition of Betty’s impact on gospel music and her ministry, which touched many across the country.
In his message, Uhuru mourned the artist as “an extraordinary minister of the gospel whose music uplifted countless hearts and inspired hope across the nation.”
He further paid tribute to her unwavering commitment to her calling, saying, “Betty’s legacy will endure through her children, her music, and the many lives she touched.”
He extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed that they find comfort and strength in God as they navigate the loss of a mother, wife and celebrated minister of the word.
