The celebrated artist succumbed to leukemia on Monday at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) on Monday.
She breathed her last at around 1 pm.
According to the family representative, the “Eleventh Hour" hitmaker was admitted at KNH on Friday after being transferred from AAR hospital along Kiambu Road.
Friends and loved ones gathered at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital Mortuary, their faces etched with sorrow.
Tears flowed freely as they mourned the tragic loss of someone so dear.
Bayo rose to prominence through her uplifting hit song “Eleventh Hour”, a track that resonated widely due to its powerful message of hope and divine intervention.
The song became an anthem in churches and across gospel platforms, solidifying her place among influential gospel voices in Kenya.
Fellow artists and industry stakeholders have poured in tributes, describing her as a humble, gifted, and inspirational figure whose music touched countless lives.
"She leaves behind a strong legacy of spiritual encouragement and exceptional contribution to the gospel music industry,” read one of the condolence messages from her colleagues.
Bayo’s passing is being felt deeply by fans and ministry partners who admired her unwavering faith despite her illness.

Betty was married to Pastor Kanyari, but they later separated.
The gospel community is mourning the passing of Betty Bayo, a voice that shaped worship spaces for over a decade.

Bayo had been planning a special birthday getaway with her son, a moment of joy that tragically never came to be.
In a video shared online before her passing, Bayo spoke of booking an intimate holiday for just the two of them, saying, “I’m here to book a holiday destination for my upcoming birthday next month. Funny enough, we share the same birth date with my son. This time around, I don’t want to spend it with anyone else; it’s just me and my son.”
While her son suggested celebrating in Kiambu, Kenya, Bayo encouraged him to pick an international destination, reflecting her desire to make even small moments special.
Those plans, however, were cut short when Bayo passed away on Monday.
