
Detectives are investigating the death of a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in a sugarcane plantation in Angata Barrakoi, Narok County.
Police said her body, which was still in school uniform, was discovered on October 29, 2025.
According to police reports, the girl’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with visible injuries to the neck. The motive of the killing has not yet been established.
The body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations. Police said no arrests had been made, but detectives are pursuing leads to identify those responsible.
In a separate incident in Namanjala, Trans Nzoia County, a 57-year-old man identified as Paul Muliro Karera was found dead in a house on October 28.
Police said the body was discovered in a pool of blood. Preliminary investigations indicated that Karera may have had an argument with his son before entering the son’s house.
Investigators believe he may have been killed in the house, and the suspect reportedly fled soon after the incident. The body was taken to the mortuary for autopsy and other procedures as investigations continue.
In Konyango, Kendu Bay, Homa Bay County, police are investigating the killing of Joseph Oyoo Ondiek, 62, who reportedly died after a confrontation with a neighbour over a grazing field on October 28.
Police said the assailant allegedly struck Ondiek on the head with a sharp object. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died while receiving treatment.
The suspect fled the scene and is being sought by police. Authorities have appealed for calm after reports that some residents had threatened to retaliate against the suspect’s family and property.
Elsewhere in Myanga area, Bungoma County, police are investigating the death of Naomi Sangara, 29, who was reportedly found dead in her house following a domestic altercation.
According to police, the woman had visible injuries and bloodstains were observed at the scene. Officers said a piece of fabric was found tied around her neck.
The body was taken to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination following the October 29 incident.
Western Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud said a suspect had been arrested in connection with the death and is expected to face murder charges.
