

Detectives are investigating the murder of a five-year-old girl after her body was found dumped in a pit latrine in Navokholo, Kakamega County.
Police said the deceased girl was a PP2 pupil at Nderema Comprehensive School in the area.
The child had been playing with other children at the compound where the body was found before she went missing, police and locals said.
It is suspected she was killed and dumped in the latrine. The police removed the body and moved it to the mortuary.
Moments later, a mob cornered a man they claimed was behind the murder and lynched him.
The mob stoned him to death before setting the body on fire; this was before police could arrive at the scene.
The motive of the murder of the child was not immediately known.
Both bodies were moved to the local mortuary pending investigations and an autopsy.
Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident where a 46-year-old woman was found dead in her house in Jamhuri area, Kilimani, Nairobi.
The woman was identified as Martha Wahumu Njoki. The cause of her death was not immediately established. Her body was found in her house long after she had died.
Her roommate reported the matter to the police prompting the probe, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Meanwhile, a British woman was found dead in her apartment in Shanzu, Mombasa county.
Police identified the woman as Shield Kathleen, 89.
She arrived in Kenya on April 24, 2025 and was to leave on November 22, 2025.
Police said preliminary findings had shown the woman was sick. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.
Last week, a French tourist was found dead in her room at a hotel in Naivasha, Nakuru county.
Police said Dominique Marie Josephe, 20, had arrived in Kenya on October 21, 2025 and checked into her room two days later.
She had been to Maasai Mara Game Reserve before she checked to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Her handlers said she was scheduled to leave for Amboseli National Park on October 24 when she was found unresponsive.
Her body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations, police said.
And elsewhere in Diani, Kwale county, a 60-year-old German national was found dead in his room.
The cause of the death of Frank Kibling was not immediately established, police said.
The authorities said they were informed of the incident by a caretaker of the houses where the man and other tenants live, that the foreigner was dead.
The body was found sprawled on the sofa. The door to the house was partially closed then, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
