
Police are investigating an incident where a 35-year-old man was found dead in his bed after suspected murder in Getare village, Nyamira County.
Police believe the killers of Philip Bosire were
hiding in his house before they attacked him.
His body was found on his bed on Sunday October 19,
2025 afternoon long after he had been murdered.
He had multiple facial injuries after the attack. The deceased lived alone in the house.
He had on Saturday night taken his super
in his parents’ house before he walked to his house oblivious of the dangers
waiting for him.
Police suspect the killers were hiding in the house.
His relatives were concerned he had not woken up and
went to check on him only to find the house locked from outside. He was also
not responding to his calls.
They forced the door to open when they found the man
lying dead in a pool of blood with disfigured face and injuries on the back of
the head.
The assailants stole a six-kilo gas cylinder, a 32-inch
television set and three mobile phones that were in the house, police said.
A mob attacked a home in the area claiming the
assailant came from there.
The deceased had been released from jail where he
was serving a 24-year jail term over claims of defilement. This was after he
appealed the ruling.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an
autopsy.
Elsewhere in Olmukongo village,
Narok County, one Dennis Kapolonto Tamoo, 63 was found murdered in the sitting
room of his one-bedroom semi-permanent house with a deep cut on the head.
It was established that the
deceased lived with his wife in the same compound but on different rooms.
She told police she heard her dogs barking
and upon checking she also found her husband who came out from his room who was
also checking what was happening and they returned to the house only to found
in the morning her room locked from outside.
She later went to check on her
husband where she found him lying dead with a deep cut on the head.
At the scene, a copy of a title deed was recovered.
Police said they detained the wife and the family herder as
part of the probe into the murder.
In Ombeyi, Ahero, Kisumu County, a man was found
beheaded on a rice plantation.
The body was found lying in a
harvested rice farm with multiple cuts on both hands, beheaded and deep cuts in
the stomach.
The motive of the murder was not
immediately known.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and identification.
