
A man was found dead with stab wounds after an attack by his friends in a suspected deal that went bad in Kariobangi area, Nairobi.
The deceased, identified as Samuel Mbogo, was
found dead on the roadside on Wednesday afternoon after he had been seen arguing
with his three friends.
Nairobi police boss George Seda said a team
responded to the area and found the body lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds
in the chest, head, back and stomach moments after the murder.
He said the three assailants escaped the scene
after the attack.
A search on the body recovered Sh4,500 and three
different ATM cards.
Witnesses told police the deceased was in the company
of three other men before an argument broke out between them over an unknown
deal.
He was then stabbed multiple times and left for
dead.
Police moved the body to the mortuary pending
an autopsy and other investigations.
Seda said they are looking for the assailants for
questioning and other procedures.
The area is notorious for such violent crimes
amid heightened police operations to address the menace.
Elsewhere in Nyamira Town, the body of a man
was found on the roadside with a stab wound on the collarbone.
Police said the man was not immediately
identified. He had also been strangled, police at the scene said of the Tuesday
incident.
The motive of the incident that happened in
Bosamaro area is yet to be established.
The deceased’s clothes had blood stains when
police arrived at the scene to move the body to the mortuary.
Police said they are investigating the murder.
In Muungano area, Athi River, Machakos County,
police said they are investigating the murder of a woman whose body was found lying
on the roadside after murder.
The woman did not have any documents when the
body was found on Tuesday, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification
exercise and autopsy. The motive of the murder is yet to be established.
Murder cases have been on the rise in separate incidents in the country. Police statistics show up to eight cases are reported daily amid efforts to address them.
A special homicide squad has been created to address the cases across
the country. Some of the incidents lie unsolved while others are in courts.
