3,000 prepared rolls and 33 packages of the substance, which were retained as

The Nairobi arrest comes
a few days after police in Mariakani arrested a man over
alleged possession of rolls of bhang.
Police said after the arrest on Sunday, he was found in possession of 12
rolls of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa, as well as two machetes,
which are classified as offensive weapons.
The suspect was placed in police custody, and the recovered exhibits were
secured pending processing and arraignment in court.
In a separate incident, detectives
attached to Sotik Police Station in Bomet County arrested a suspected drug
trafficker caught with 350 kilograms of bhang valued at approximately Sh7
million.
According to the Directorate of
Criminal Investigations (DCI), the officers flagged down a Toyota Isis while on
a routine patrol along the Sotik-Kaplong Highway.
The driver, however, abandoned the
vehicle and fled from the scene, raising suspicions among the officers.
The officers quickly searched the vehicle and discovered the contraband
stuffed inside seven sacks.
The detectives launched a manhunt for the driver, and following forensic
leads, they trailed him to his hideout in Kibra, Nairobi.
The driver, identified as Diab Asman Bhakit, was arrested and escorted to Sotik Police Station.
On Friday, October 10, police arrested two suspects in
Nairobi, as part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and drug trafficking.
They were arrested after officers from Kamukunji police station conducted a
targeted operation within the Ziwani area.
The duo was found in possession of 64 rolls of cannabis. According to the National Police Service (NPS), the suspects were taken into custody and are awaiting processing and arraignment.
