Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Sunday visited the Tudor Creek boat tragedy in Old Town, Mombasa County. 

This follows a Friday tragic boat racing accident during the East African Oceanic Festival in Tudor.

This follows a Friday tragic boat racing accident during the East African Oceanic Festival in Tudor.

On Sunday during the visit, Kindiki said that one body had been retrieved as the search effort continues for two missing persons.

The Deputy President condoled with the Bangladesh area residents following the boat tragedy on Saturday at around 5.30 pm.

"The National government and the county government of Mombasa will support the families of those who lost their loved ones in the tragedy," the DP said.

"The government will also support the brave locals who were the first responders and who helped save lives. ⁠Psychological-social support will also be provided to the survivors who were left visibly shaken by the incident."
