The Wiper Patriotic Front has officially endorsed Kalonzo Musyoka as its presidential candidate for the 2027 General Elections, marking a key milestone in the party's renewed political journey.
Kalonzo was formally presented with the nomination certificate during a colourful National Delegates Convention (NDC) held at Uhuru Park, Nairobi, on Friday.
The event drew thousands of delegates and a host of top opposition leaders.
In attendance were DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua, DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, PLP leader Martha Karua, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, and former National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, around the Wiper leader.
Accepting the nomination, Kalonzo expressed gratitude to party members and supporters, promising to steer Kenya toward unity, justice, and economic renewal.
"I accept your nomination to be your presidential candidate for the elections scheduled for 2027," Kalonzo declared amid cheers from the delegates.
“Let me take a moment to thank the almighty God who has been my guide, to my family and extended family in Kirinyaga.” He added.
Kalonzo also thanked his “darling wife, Pauline, who is watching, the mother of our children.”
“You are a vision bearer, you have been amazing, and every day, every moment, you keep on amazing me. May the good Lord grant you the healing we all have been waiting for.”
The NDC also ratified key resolutions, including the party's rebranding from Wiper Democratic Movement to Wiper Patriotic Front, and endorsed a comprehensive roadmap for grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.
